As India prepares to celebrate its 78th Independence Day, Mumbai's skyline has taken on a patriotic hue. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has illuminated two major water sources, Tansa and Modak Sagar dams in tricolour.

This stunning tricolour lighting is part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, launched by the Prime Minister in 2022 under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative.

Mumbai's unique Independence Day tribute

The BMC shared breathtaking footage of the illuminated dams on social media, showcasing cascading water bathed in saffron, white, and green lights. This creative tribute has not only transformed these crucial infrastructure pieces into symbols of national pride but has also captivated Mumbai's residents.

The 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, now in its third year, aims to foster national pride by encouraging citizens to hoist the tricolour at their homes till August 15.
