In a bid to streamline the vehicular movement between the Western Express Highway and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, a new linking flyover is currently in the process of construction. This 615-meter long and 8-meter wide flyover is noteworthy for its meticulous design, carefully considering various factors.

According to MMRDA, the flyover has been conceived with a shorter length and reduced height, thus occupying a smaller land footprint and promising a more aesthetically pleasing final outcome. Presently, the section connecting Terminal 1 of the Mumbai airport to the Western Express Highway frequently experiences heightened traffic congestion, leading to recurring traffic disruptions in the vicinity.

Upon completion, the flyover will play a pivotal role in alleviating these bottlenecks near the T1 junction. Reportedly, the construction of the flyover is projected to conclude by December 2023.
