New public bus service on MTHL to soon reduce travel time between Mumbai and Pune

Aditya Vikram

A new Mumbai-Pune bus service is all set to be launched, which would run via the popular MTHL (Mumbai Trans Harbour Link). This transportation mode, featuring Shivneri Volvo and e-Shivneri buses, will reduce the travel time between Mumbai and Pune by an hour. Currently, the overall journey duration between the two cities is around 4h 15m.

To start operating from February 20, on experimental basis

This new public bus service on MTHL will include two routes. One will be from Pune Station to Mumbai's Mantralaya at Nariman Point, commencing at 6:30 AM. The second route will be from Swargate in Pune to Dadar in Mumbai, starting at 7 AM. The return journey, on the other hand, will commence from 11 AM and 1 PM, respectively.

The MSRTC (Maharashtra State Road Transportation Corporation) officials have also informed that there will be no change in the ticket charges. The fare for the new buses will be identical to that of the existing buses operating on the same route.
