Originally called the Lotus Tank and affectionately called "Motha Sarovar", this 'talao' was meticulously crafted by a prosperous Konkani man from Navpada village. This pond has since then, acted as a lifeline for every Bandra resident.

Not only does the 'talao' serve a practical purpose but it is also important in terms of culture and environment. Sustainable water management practices in the area are supported by the active use of rainwater harvesting techniques. Visitors looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, are also drawn to it because of its convenient location, close to Bandra Station.

Despite overall cleanliness, the boundaries along the main road of the pond appear to be littered. And even with daily cleaning efforts in place, the main emphasis remains on preventing the buildup of trash.

Thus, the city officials have undertaken regular efforts to revive Talao's appeal. The deployment of cleanup marshals, assigned to conduct random checks and issue fines to litterers, has also been a step towards cleanliness.

Additional security measures, like the positioning of guards, have been put in place to protect the integrity of the Talao, guaranteeing its continuous preservation for the enjoyment of future generations.
