Samsung India launches new AI-powered appliances at its flagship BKC store

On April 3, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, Samsung unveiled its new range of AI-powered appliances, demonstrating the future of connected and sustainable homes. The South Korean firm conducted the ‘Bespoke AI’ event at the Samsung BKC store at the Jio World Plaza in Mumbai, India. With AI-powered home appliances, Samsung aims at exceeding customer expectations in the fast-growing premium appliances market.

Samsung's new home appliance lineup includes a refrigerator with AI vision capabilities that can recognise up to 33 food items and compile recipes alongside an air conditioner that can be operated remotely with the help of Geo-fencing technology. Further, a microwave that can cook diet-friendly food and a washing machine that can gradually understand users’ laundry schedules and automatically adjust its cycle.

Bespoke AI will help increase sustainability of home appliances, with users getting notified when their refrigerator or air conditioner needs filter replacement through the SmartThings App, said Samsung officials. With the introduction of AI, Samsung aims at reducing the time required to manage these appliances and ensure smarter living.
