Maharashtra is setting sail into a new chapter of tourism with an exciting plan to launch river cruises across its extensive river network. This initiative, part of the state’s revamped tourism policy, aims to offer a fresh and immersive travel experience along the Narmada, Vashishti, and Godavari rivers, among others.

This ambitious plan isn’t just about cruises, it's also about building new ports along the Konkan coast to boost accessibility and efficiency.

Cruise through nature, culture, and more

Starting with the Nandurbar to Statue of Unity route, and expanding to Konkan and Nashik, these cruises promise to showcase Maharashtra’s stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Expect scenic journeys through lush landscapes, vibrant local villages, and opportunities for bird watching and nature walks in wildlife sanctuaries.

With a hefty ₹1,666 crore in incentives this year and more to follow, the state is rolling out the red carpet for investors. Maharashtra aims to attract ₹1 lakh crore in investments over the next decade to fuel this initiative. The cruises will also spotlight eco-tourism, featuring bird watching, nature walks, and visits to wildlife sanctuaries.
