MTP issues advisory ahead of TATA Mumbai Marathon 2025

The Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the TATA Marathon 2025 on January 19, from 3 AM to 2 PM. A total of 63 routes will be closed, with alternative routes provided. Commuters are advised to plan ahead to avoid inconvenience as thousands of runners participate in this citywide event.

Health risks loom as marathon route exceeds WHO Air Quality limits

Awaaz Foundation's recent survey revealed unsafe levels of PM 2.5 along the Mumbai Marathon route, with all eight tested areas exceeding WHO's safe limit of 15 micrograms per cubic meter. Pollution levels ranged from 95 to 154 micrograms per cubic meter. The foundation has urged the BMC and MPCB to conduct official tests and issue health advisories to ensure safety for over 60,000 participants ahead of the January 19 event.

Mumbai Marathon 2025 on Sony Sports this Sunday

The Mumbai Marathon 2025, a World Athletics Gold Label Road Race, kicks off this Sunday from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus with Mo Farah at the starting line. With 60,000 runners, including elite athletes like Hayle Lemi Berhanu and Aberash Minsewo, it's a qualifying event for the World Athletics Championships. The event features a full marathon, half marathon, and 10K runs. The Mumbai Marathon 2025 will be telecast live on Sony Sports TEN 1 and TEN 1 HD. The race will not be live-streamed.
