Traffic restrictions to be enforced in Kurla, amid the Metro work; check alternate routes here

The traffic diversions will remain in place from October 1, 2022, to March 1, 2023.

Owing to the ongoing Metro 2B and sewage line construction, traffic restrictions have been imposed on the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road in Kurla. Mumbai police have recently released an update according to which the vehicular traffic will be diverted from certain stretches of the link road, from October 1 to March 1, 2023.

With the scheduled imposition of the restrictions, here's the list of No entry points and alternative routes.

No Entry points on SRZ-Chembur Link road

The vehicular restrictions will be in place on Santacruz-Chembur Link Road, southbound between the stretch of Kanakiya Zillon to Kapadiya Nagar. Listed below are the no entry points on the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road.

  • Vakola-bound vehicular traffic from Ghatkopar L.B.S road will be diverted.

  • Vehicular traffic from Sion L.B.S Road to Vakola via south bound of Santacruz Chembur Link Road will be diverted.

  • Vehicular traffic from Chembur through south bound of Santacruz Chembur Link Road to Vakola via L.B.S road will be diverted.

Alternate routes to reach Vakola

In order to prevent danger, obstruction and inconvenience to the public, Mumbai traffic police also released some alternate routes for the public to follow.

  • Instead of taking the Kurla Depot Junction route, vehicles bound to Vakola can go straight through LBS road, take a right at Surve Junction, proceed through Sitaram Bhairu Road, take a right at MTNL junction and through Razzak Junction and shall proceed to their desired destination.

  • To reach Vakola from Sion LBS road, vehicles can take a left turn at Surve Junction before Kurla Depot Junction on LBS road and proceed through Sitaram Bhairu road taking a right turn at MTNL junction, crossing the Razzak Junction.

  • To reach Vakola from Chembur via Chembur-SRZ Link road vehicles can take a left turn at Kurla Depot Junction and proceed through LBS. Further, take a right turn at Surve Junction and proceed through Sitaram Bhairu Road then take a right turn at MTNL junction via Razzak Junction.
