Mumbai Airport has become the first venue in India to offer its flagship, on-demand electric vehicle (EV) services. The leading ridesharing app launched its EV product, Uber Green, on Wednesday. Now, passengers travelling to and from the airport can opt for eco-friendly transportation with a single tap.
Terminal 2 of the Mumbai Airport will work as the dedicated pick-up zone for the new Uber Green services, along with a number of spots spread across the city. This way, passengers travelling to the airport from different areas will be able to opt for eco-friendly transportation.
Aside from boosting sustainability in India's Financial Capital, this is also a major step for Uber towards becoming a zero-emissions mobility platform worldwide by 2040.
Those travelling to Mumbai Airport can follow these simple steps to book their eco-friendly ride:
Open your Uber app
Enter current location and fill the 'where to' box
Select the Uber Green option at the bottom of the screen
Check booking details and tap on 'Confirm Green'
Enjoy your comfortable ride while doing your bit for the environment
