In a significant stride towards gender inclusivity in Mumbai Central Division's Western Railway (WR) network, Harshita Arvindbhai Patel has etched her name in the annals of history. She has become the first female to be appointed as Deputy Station Superintendent (Commercial) at Bilimora Station. Breaking barriers and defying stereotypes, Patel's journey is a beacon of inspiration for women across the country.

Harshita A Patel, who began her journey with Railways on November 17, 2003, was initially appointed as a commercial clerk. Her extensive experience, gained over years of dedicated service, positions her as an invaluable asset within the organisation.

Emphasising on the achievement, an official from Western Railway was further noted saying that empowering women brings about both social and economic change in the society.
