Jaipur is full of monuments that give us an insight into its historical value and this tower is one such edifice. Sargasuli speaks of an intriguing story of King Ishwari Singh's victory over Raja Madho Singh, which later gave birth to this structure! Singh's army had defeated the combined armies of Mewar and the Marathas, who were supporting the claims of Madho Singh. The Sargasuli Tower was built to memorialize this triumph!

Across the world, different reigns have witnessed that towers were built in earlier times to mark a symbolic event in history. The Sargasuli Tower is the tallest historical building in Jaipur, inspired by Delhi's Qutub Minar and Kirti Stambha of Chittorgarh. Situated 5 km from Jaipur Junction, it is located near the Tripolia Gate of the City Palace. This 8-floor minaret provides a breathtaking 360-degree view of the entire city, which makes sense, as it served as a watchtower once.
Although it was named Isar Lat, after King Ishwari Singh, it is called Sargasuli by the locals due to the fact that it looks as if it's piercing through heaven due to its height. For many years, entry into the Sargasuli Tower was forbidden but now it is open for tourists. With an entry fee of just ₹70 per person, you can come over here anytime between 9:30 AM to 4 PM.
