Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the redevelopment of 49 bus terminals across the state under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, with an estimated cost of ₹4,325 crore. Under the plan, bus stations will be upgraded into airport-like hubs with improved waiting areas, sanitation, food outlets, retail spaces, and accommodation.

Around 55% of each site will be reserved for public use, while 45% will be utilised for commercial activity. The largest terminal is planned in Noida, while the costliest project will be at Jankipuram in Lucknow.

In the first phase, 23 bus terminals were taken up for redevelopment, with construction already underway at most locations. The next phase will expand coverage to 52 districts, including Agra, Barabanki, Azamgarh, and Ballia. The revised policy framework also aims to attract investors through relaxed eligibility norms and lease periods of 35 or 90 years.
