Bad news for Lucknowites: Lucknow Literary Festival called off after protests against Kanhaiya Kumar!

The fifth edition of Lucknow Literary Festival took off on Friday, November 10 and was called off on November 11, after protests by ABVP members.

On the first day of the event, former President of JNU student’s Union, Kanhaiya Kumar was invited for a session on his book- From Bihar to Tihar, at Sheroes Hangout. However, the event was interrupted by members of ABVP, but later things were under control.

The guest list for the lit fest, included many stalwarts such as- Varun Gandhi, Shatrughan Sinha and Vinod Dua.

The district administration gave maintenance of law and order during civic elections, as the reason for cancelling the event.

Lit fest is eagerly awaited every year by the Lucknowites, and is an event that is open for all. A lot was in store for the audiences in the three-day fest and people were looking forward to it, but the sudden turn of events has left the people disappointed.
