Knocksense: A local content and recommendations platform

Now what do we think of when we hear the word “patties”. We think of the hushed conversation we had with our crush in the school canteen. We think of the parties and the fun that we had as a kid, of the snack break in college when we felt like eating “nothing” and the flaky savoury patties was something we were always hungry for.

The flaky puffed pastry filled with a mix of veggies, potatoes and paneer, is an unsung hero, the conversation starter of childhood and a guilty pleasure in adulthood. But i is not everywhere that you can find a good flaky patty. Coming across a perfectly made patty, that is neither too oily, nor too dry, is a miracle of sorts and we know just the perfect place.

Chauuan Pandit Patties in Kanpur’s Barra is an icon when it comes to patties or any other kind of snack for that matter.

This small outlet is known for serving few of the most experimental and quirky patties we’ve heard of. Aside from the basic potato and paneer, this outlet serves saucy patties. Yes, you heard us right, patty lathered with sauce and topped with an accoutrement of things.

Some come topped with crunchy sev, some with flaky namkeen, onions, paneer, fresh coriander and what not. Believe me the toppings only add on to the charm of everything. Getting a full patty, especially for the given price point, ₹25 for a veggie one and ₹30 for paneer, is actually pretty decent.

Though, Chauuan Pandit Patties only deliver the patties they are known for, you can also get a bunch of other things here. The paneer maggi and crispy honey chili potato are especially recommended.

So go ahead and relive your haydays, order a few patties, get some tea and reminisce about the golden days of school and college.
