5 books everyone in their twenties should definitely readThis world book day here's how you can make your twenties a little less rough

Books are a woman's (and man's) best friend. From the turn of the century books and knowledge have been given a very big spot in the society. Even in the age of Netflix series and YouTube videos, the feeling losing yourself into a book is priceless. Often people overlook the importance of a good book but ask any literary or learned person and they will tell you that reading and reading for pleasure are what make you successful in this life. So, this world book day here's how you can make your twenties a little less rough.

A Book of Simple Living by Ruskin Bond

'A book of simple living' is not a book, it is a life lesson, it is years and years of experience poured down between pages. The book will take you on a journey of self discovery and knowledge. The book talks about life and how to properly appreciate it, it also talks of simple pleasures, small things that make you who you are.

"and when all the wars are over, a butterfly will still be beautiful.."

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

The Kite Runner is a beautiful book. A lot of people have this book on their "must read list" but not a lot of people read the book. Read it. It's that simple. Read the book and you'll learn more about compassion, loyalty, love and bitterness than you can ever learn from sermons and holy scriptures. Set in the pre-war world of Afghanistan, the book is an ode to friendships lost and voices muted.

The curious incident of the dog in the nighttime by Mark Haddon

If you're one who's always afraid of being left out, an outcast and don't really fit in anywhere, then this book will give you a lesson or two. The plot follows a young fifteen year boy and a detective who investigates the murder of a dog. The plot shows how people from the inside have a stereotypical view of the outside. It is a book that deals with how to see the world in a different and more colourful light.

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

The Alchemist is a classic and that is why it is on every single list you'll ever come across. Why have so many people read the book and recommend it? It is because the book is full of lessons that no-one teaches you. Lessons that are so hard to learn that people spend a lifetime still trying to figure it out. Read the book and find the balance you've been looking for.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by

In a life immersed in social media and flashing our wins in each others faces, the book teaches you how to survive it all. Be it the condescending comments from your aunt or the snide remarks those girls make in college, the book will help get through it all, with giving a F.

Twenties is a tough time, people go through a lot in their twenties. This is the time when we are supposed to "figure ourselves out" and this is thime its most difficult to. So, get on and get reading because drinking wine alone will not make you wise!

Once I wrote for a caption: “What is life if not a big tasting session”, I live by these words.

A Potterhead, I enjoy expressing myself with words, reading, going to the mountains, sipping coffee, Game of Thrones, doing nothing on a lazy Sunday afternoon and wearing quirky lipsticks.
