Goa witnesses a heavy tourist influx all around the year and with this load frolicking the coastline, the state has recognised the need for holistic management of its beaches. For this, the state government on Friday launched a ‘Beach Vigil App’, to offer a safer travel experience in Goa. Read on to know more:
Boosting the pillars of safe tourism in Goa
The app is designed to benefit the institutions working in beach tourism sector and the tourists. This collaboration of Information Technology (IT) with the tourism sector shall open many new avenues in the sector in future. The development of tourism and safety is an all-around and collective effort that needs to be taken up by the government as well as the people.
“The government is in the process to finalize an integrated plan for beach cleaning. The Beach Vigil App will cover everything from reporting illegal hawkers and illegal massage services to beach cleanliness,” said the Tourism Minister.
The mobile interface will bring Beach Vigil App Drishti workers, police and other stakeholders together on a single platform to create an effective and efficient tourist grievance redressal system. Tourists can use this app and raise their complaints in case of illegal trade, con or theft.
Since the heart of tourism in Goa is its iconic beaches and historical monuments, the application becomes even more essential, as it is aimed at encouraging tourism post-COVID-19 and reducing the hesitation among people.
