A land in Mandrem, which belonged to the Revenue Department, was lying unused for the past 20 years. Now, it has been transferred to the Tourism Department and the upcoming entertainment village shall be constructed on this land. The total area over which this village shall be spread is almost 1.25 lakh square metres.

As per the latest reports, the foundation stone for the entertainment village will be laid by 19 December 2021. Further, the Chief Minister of Goa has directed officials to complete all due process, including land conversion of the area and change in land-use zoning, within three months.

The government has chosen this piece of land to build the entertainment village, for Mandrem is a popular tourist destination. Further, it is located in the proximity of other beaches like Arambol and Morjim and this shall help in attracting the domestic and international crowd, post-pandemic. Nearness to an upcoming civilian airport in Mopa Plateau, also furthers the cause of popularising this destination.
