Goa's First Swayampurna Chaturthi Bazaar will open from August 20

Swayampurna Bazaar, for Ganesh Chaturthi, will expand across 12 talukas of Goa

In spirt of Ganesh Chaturthi, one of the most celebrated festivals in the country, Goa Government is organising it‘s first Swayampurna Chaturthi Bazaar, which will be held from 20th August. From Modaks to Nevryos, all local items will be available at the one of a kind bazaar.

The Chaturthi Bazaar has been inspired from the Swayampurna Goa initiative which aims at making Goa self-reliant in every sector. To expand the scope of the project, Swayampurna Mitra have been appointed in multiple municipality areas who will organise study tours and promote the program in remote places.

Initiative to promote local aspirants

At Swayampurna Chaturthi Bazaar, Goans can sell Chaturthi specific festive products inclusive of homemade, traditional sweets like faral, modak, manolis and matoli items. It is pertinent to mention here that the stalls will be available free of cost, encouraging local producers and vendors to come forward.

This will also help boost the sale of traditional crafts, which has otherwise been substituted with bulk manufacturing.

According to the action plan by the authorities, Swayampurna Mitras and Taluka nodal officers will identify favourable places for the bazaar. The Mitras will readily guide interested locals and business owners.

Swayampurna Bazaar for Ganesh Chaturthi will be set up across 12 talukas of Goa. Local vendors and business owners interested in setting up stalls can contact their concerned Swayampurna Mitras.
