Goa land record dept to carry out survey to identify illegal encroachers on beaches in Goa

Goa is home to some thirty-five plus beaches including the famous Baga Beach and Anjuna Beach.

Goa is a paradise for beach lovers where the water is turquoise and sky showcases different hues of blue. Being one of the most densely populated beach destinations of the world, various encroachments have been made along the beach sides.

Following this, an order has been issued by the Directorate of Settlement and Land Records (DSLR), specifying that the Department of Tourism desires to clear all illegal encroachments on Goa beaches along the west coast.

Survey to identify illegal encroachment

Divided into two parts, North and South, Goa is home to more than 35 beaches including the famous Baga Beach and Anjuna Beach. All illegal encroachment of land on these western beaches that belong to the tourism department will be identified through a survey and subsequently removed to preserve the land.

Earlier in 2008, DSLR carried out a survey and fixed boundary stones at different beaches. Reportedly, the same survey plan will be used for references to carry out a fresh survey of the beach land belonging to the Department of Tourism.
