It has been reported that the total amount to be distributed shall not exceed ₹25 crores annually. While the maximum chunk out of this will be available for four-wheelers, two-wheeler vehicles also get a significant proportion. As per reports, the subsidy will be provided on a first come first serve basis, only after the essential documents of purchase-RC book and Insurance are produced.

As per reports, Goa ranks 15th in terms of vehicle density and the latest development shall be conducive to lowering the carbon footprint. Besides, it would also encourage meticulous use of the scarce non-renewable resources.

This project by the state administration is aligned with the objectives of the central government's National Electric Mobility Plan (NEMPP). While the scheme had high aims for 2020, the targets could not be materialised due to the high prices of electric vehicles. It has been reported that electric vehicles cost 50% more than internal combustion engines.

As per reports, it is important to implement interventions that can propel enhanced availability and accessibility of hybrid and electric vehicles. With this vision, the central government has launched a project which aims to prevent excessive usage of oil. In addition to this, the objectives also entail a reduction in vehicular emissions like carbon dioxide.
