Goa is boosting immunisation against COVID among the youth, by opening the doors of almost 83 vaccination centres for the 18-44 age group. As per the latest announcement by the Chief Minister of Goa, a fresh set of relaxation has been issued which is in sync with the guidelines of the Government of India. These relaxations allow the inoculation drive to give priority to individuals (18-44 age group) who are leaving for abroad, to get vaccinated at the earliest.

From today, the first dose vaccination for individuals falling in the 18-44 age group shall commence. The eligible beneficiaries for this inoculation drive will be students and job seekers who are leaving for foreign shores. Apart from them, sportspersons bound for Tokyo Olympic Games will also be allowed to take the jabs.

It has been stated that eligible beneficiaries can get their vaccine shots from any registered centre across the state. The documents that they need to carry to the vaccination centres include a copy of the admission offer (for student), interview call records or job offer letters (for job seekers) and nomination document (for sportspersons).

Other initiatives to boost vaccination

Apart from this latest guideline, the state government has been tirelessly working to boost immunisation and spread awareness about it among residents. With an objective to augment the scope of inoculation, Tika Utsav 2.0 was organised in Goa very recently, which expanded the drive across the rural pockets and far-flung areas. The state further attempts to accelerate the drive with its latest directives for priority immunisation.
