In accordance with the Union Ministry’s order of no special e-passes, transit permissions or separate approvals for inter and intra state travel, the Goan government has withdrawn the need of travel permits for visitors to enter the state. This decision however does not impose any changes in the established screening and quarantine protocols for tourists and visitors upon arrival in the state.
What’s the news?
The Goa government on Tuesday, revoked the transit permission rule which were earlier filed by visitors travelling to the state. These permits were further verified upon arrival in the state, after which the person allowed to enter the state. However, with the Union ministry allowing free movement of goods and passengers within and across various states, the Goa government, in a meeting of the state executive committee removed the transit permit protocol to enter the state.

This new transit order will not affect the other precautionary screenings and mandatory testing protocols that have been established for visitors upon arrival in the state.
The visitors now have to carry a coronavirus negative certificate from ICMR approved laboratories and pathologies or opt for the ₹2000/- COVID-19 test upon arrival and be under paid institutional or private quarantine until the results are declared. These mandatory tests also continue as visitors depart the state.
