Hand-Held terminals are wireless devices commonly used at railway terminals to enable expeditious finalisation of refund claims and other passengers' convenience. As part of the digital initiative, the trains which will now have HHTs are:

  • 16589/16590 Bengaluru-Miraj: Bengaluru Rani Chennamma Express

  • 17309/17310 Yesvantpur-Vasco: Yesvantpur Express

  • 16543/16544 Yesvantpur-SSS: Hubballi-Yesvantpur Express

  • 20653/20654 KSR Bengaluru-Belagavi: KSR Bengaluru Express

Reportedly, the HHTs will allow the on-duty TTEs to download the working chart on board, updating cancellations of tickets, empty seat allotment and RAC clearance.

The Indian Railway introduced Hand Held Terminals (HHT) to ticket checking staff as part of the national transporter effort to introduce digital initiatives. The first such HHT was introduced in Patna-New Delhi Rajdhani, where all the ticket checking staff were provided with the latest gadgets.
