Several Higher Secondary schools in Goa have slated an early schedule for the class IX and XII assessments, beginning next week. As such, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has revised the exam evaluation scheme for the academic batch of 2021-2022.

Now, candidates will be assessed through tests, round the year. This will help schools keep track of the student's progress and evaluate it even if the council's final exams are canceled due to an unforeseen pandemic situation. In line with this, the DoE has ordained offline mode of tests for classes XI and XII, to ensure their exam credibility.

The Directorate has drafted thorough standard operating protocols that have to be strictly implemented by all schools across Goa to ensure maximum COVD safety. The order clearly states that teachers or staff members that have not been vaccinated will be denied entry into the schools. If the individual is not eligible for the vaccine shot, due to prior infection, they have to compulsorily produce a negative COVID-19 test report, every seven days.

The DoE circular has put a 50% cap on the number of students in each classroom. This restriction has been included to support the norms of social distancing, added reports. All students and staff have to follow the mask imperative when in school.

All schools have been asked to conduct a deep sanitation drive, one day ahead of the reopening of schools. Each person attending the school, including students, teachers or other staff members, have to undergo thermal screening before entering the campus. Any individual that exhibits COVID symptoms will have to undergo a test immediately. All other safety, hygiene and sanitation measures and care have to be exercised by schools to prevent infection spread and rise.
