For those who love to gaze into the night sky, it’s a special day today. Because the moon will be at its biggest and brightest tonight. Known as the ‘full supermoon’ or the ‘super hunter moon’, this unique celestial marvel is all set to dazzle the night sky, which will also be the closest full moon of this year.
To have a better look at this rare celestial event, you must head to the Jyotir Vigyan department of Lucknow University, where the Indira Gandhi Planetarium and UP Amateur Astronomers Club are currently conducting a special ‘sky observation programme’ for the public. This open-for-public sky observation programme will go on till 9 PM today.
The moon will be at its closest point from the earth today at 11:55 PM. So, set your alarms and reminders to watch this ‘super hunter moon’ light up the night sky.
