In a noble initiative, IITians from across the country will be taking free online classes to teach Science and Mathematics to students from rural government schools across India.

Started by Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, the initiative was launched at Lucknow's UP Sainik School and is named OREI (Online Rural Education Initiative).

All classes will be available for free on YouTube as well

IIT Kanpur has developed an online platform for this initiative, which will connect students between Class 9th to 12th from rural government schools with IITians. It must be noted that these will be interactive classes, where students will be able to ask questions. Furthermore, all classes will be available in Hindi on the YouTube channel for free.

In Uttar Pradesh, IITians will be teaching students from 10 government-run secondary schools. These classes will inspire the students from rural India to dream big and attain success like those who have cracked IITs, an official from UP secondary education department said.
