Over the past few months, we’ve been hearing a lot about developments in Indore. It has been constantly progressing as a better and a more impressive city and will soon rival the likes of many metropolitan cities in India. The city’s Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport is one of the busiest in the state and soon, the first Dubai bound international flight from here will take off in mid July. What’s the update?
The Indore airport has been gearing up for international flights for a while now. Earlier this month, there were reports that the airport would get a new aerobridge and two of these would be used for international flights. In fact, only three weeks back, the airport received immigration clearance from the home ministry.
Now that the first international flight, which will be bound for Dubai has finally been proposed, we are rather excited to see what other changes will be brought about in the city.
Which flights will go to Dubai?

As for the flight itself, it will be an Air India flight. The aircraft that will be used for this journey is a Boeing Jet- Airbus A320 which has the capacity to seat 162 passengers. The plan is to have three flights from Indore on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, while from Dubai, the returning flights will ply on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Though a tentative flight schedule has been planned, it is subject to change according to what preparations are made at both the airports.
The timings for these flights are rather comfortable for not just travellers from Indore, but from nearby places which do not have an international airport. Already, we can see that Indore will see a greater influx of professionals owing to this new development.
As per reports from a few travel agencies and websites, the number of commuters that search for direct flights from Indore to Dubai is actually quite large. We for sure can’t wait for the flights to actually start.
