All eligible beneficiaries in Indore jabbed with the first dose of COVID vaccine!

Indore is the first district in India, with a population of 10 lakh+, to have achieved this win.

In a landmark victory against the COVID pandemic, Indore has achieved 100% first dose vaccine coverage among its eligible population. This means, that all people over the age of 18 years here, have at least received their primary anti-viral jab. Reportedly, Indore is the first district in India, with a 10 lakh+ population, to have achieved this feat. This, in turn, has strengthened the current healing trends in the city, the state and the nation, at large.

Indore creates history!

Indore, which was once the worst-hit COVID district of Madhya Pradesh, has joined the list of cities that have administered the first vaccine dose to all its adults. This remarkable achievement is a successful statement of its agile inoculation drive, a dedicated immunisation staff and cooperative public.

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister on Tuesday, acknowledged the efforts of the entire campaign and congratulated the citizens for having bagged this important win against the spread of the virus. 100% first vaccination coverage hampers the virulence of the novel coronavirus and its multiple strains, ahead of the expected rise of the 'third phase'. Even if the transmission rate spikes in the future, its impact will be handicapped, paving way for rapid recovery.

As of now, around 38,05,535 doses of the COVID vaccine have been administered in Indore. This count includes 28,08,995 first jabs and 9,96,540 second shots. As per official CoWIN figures, a maximum number of people in Indore have received the Covishield (31,68,773) vaccine, followed by COVAXIN (6,27,418 ) and Sputnik V(9,334) at the trailing end.
