No NYE bash in Indore; violators of COVID restrictions to face criminal charges

Notably, around 3000 policemen will be deployed across all the major intersections and places across the city to keep a vigil against violators

Witnessing a change in the COVID scenario, the district administration has banned a midnight bash across Indore. As per the order released by the administration on Thursday, violation of the ongoing restrictions on New Year's Eve will attract some serious repercussions including in the capital city. Notably, a 6-hour night curfew from 11 PM is currently imposed across Madhya Pradesh.

Pubs, restaurants to shut down before 11 PM

In view of the spike in the trajectory of coronavirus infections in the city, the district administration of Indore along with the police department of the city has geared up for a vigil against violators of COVID-mandated rules. According to officials, all restaurants, pubs and other party places are supposed to shut down before the deadline of night curfew kicks in. Any organiser found flouting this rule will not only pay hefty fines but face criminal charges as well.

To ensure no illegal activity takes place in pubs and bars, the excise department will also set out a drive targeting bootlegging in the city. Apart from this, female cops and officers dressed as civilians will also stay on guard at malls and other crowded places in the city to keep an eye on the perpetrators.

3000 cops to stay on vigil across the city!

Notably, around 3000 policemen will be deployed across all the major intersections and places across the city to keep a vigil against traffic rules violators and ensure strict adherence to all the COVID guidelines on the last night of the year. Additionally, 1000 workers of the Nagar Suraksha Samiti will assist cops in checking people for overspeeding, cases of drinking and driving along with those violating COVID restrictions.

All of the restrictions set by the administration will be effective at farmhouses and places located in the outer areas of the city as well. Going by the reports, the police department is all set to nab the violators of law in the city tonight.
