A new wave of restoration and high tech projects is coming to Indore.
Before the COVID pandemic had hit Indian shores, Indore city was on its way to becoming a highly developed city of the future, under the Smart City Indore plan. With the ongoing pandemic, several projects were halted but now, after many months of silence, it seems that the smart city plan and the projects under it are being revived.
In that light, Indore city has received a sum of a total of ₹1,000 crores, which will go towards the development and upliftment of certain existing aspects, along with bringing more new smart and futuristic projects to Indore.
Smart city project is reviving heritage spots & bringing futuristic technology
The smart city project in Indore is not all about modernizing the city. While that is one of the main goals, another crucial aspect of these projects is the revival, upliftment and the improvement of existing heritage and historical spots in the city. Indore city is a gem for history buffs and that can only be beneficial if sites are kept in check.
Other works, part of the smart city project include reconstructing roads, riverfront development, cleaning rivers and other water bodies, area based development and future proofing of the city. Each of these projects go hand in hand when it comes to the overall development of Indore.
Of the total ₹1,000 crores sanctioned, ₹500 crores will come from the central government, while the state government will also pay the same amount towards a smarter Indore.
Indore is on its way to a futuristic city
The sanction of the new budget for this will allow projects to be carried out steadily and speedily, as the city marches on towards greater heights. Once these projects are fully integrated and completed, Indore will be nothing less than a city of the future.
