As per reports, more than 1800 children from 25 different municipal regions of the city would participate in for the survey.
In an attempt to assess the state of the pandemic in Indore, the officials have planned to initiate a serosurvey amongst children below the age of 18. This process will help in detecting the presence of antibodies among minors and thereby, the officials will be able to gauge the level of immunity against the possible third wave of accelerated infections. As per reports, more than 1800 children from 25 different municipal regions of the city would be roped in for the survey.
Samples to be collected 3 different age categories
Reportedly, Indore Divisional Commissioner affirmed that the survey is expected to start within a week's time. The samples would be collected across three different categories of children including the age brackets of 1-6, 6-9 and 9-17. After the results of this examination are analysed, the authorities would be better equipped to plan interventions for tackling the anticipated third wave.
40 teams to deployed for sample collection in the city
Reportedly, the process will be led by the Indore Municipal Corporation and it will be aided by officials from Health and Revenue Department. Further, reports state that the Divisional Commissioner informed that the survey would be conducted via an app. As per reports, nearly 40 teams and 20 reserved teams are being deployed for this drive and the authorities have asked for cooperation from the city folks.
A marginal count of 2 new cases were reported from Indore on Friday. Besides, no fatality was recorded in the city throughout the month of July and the active cases dropped down significantly. In addition to this, the city authorities are executing targeted efforts to boost the vaccination numbers through a host of initiatives.
