The Meteorological department has issued a rain alert in Indore ahead of the monsoon arrival on June 15. The Indore division will experience light showers from today, the weather forecast highlighted. It may also be noted that Indore’s average rain record has dipped about 40% lower than its normal course in the last 13 days.
Pre-monsoon showers to wash Indore today
In a bid to ensure the state’s preparedness ahead of the full swing of monsoons, the MeT department has raised a yellow alert in eight districts and an orange alert in six other regions. This list includes Indore, Sagar, Bhopal, Ujjain along with Jabalpur and Hoshangabad divisions. Isolated showers and strong winds have already announced the upcoming arrival of the monsoon winds in several parts of the state. The pre-monsoon jitters will gain more strength today, read reports.
Pleasant evening in store for Indore
As analysed by the experts, the rain activity witnessed a recession over the past few days due to null activity in the Arabian Sea or the Bay of Bengal. Consequently, the trade winds did not progress as expected over the marked area over the weekend. However, from Monday onwards, rains and gusty winds are set to envelop Indore and surrounding areas. The wind speed is expected to pick up pace up to 20 km/h later in the day, thereby making the evening a pleasant one for Indoris. The maximum and minimum temperatures here will shuttle between 37°C to 23°C today.
