Competing against 105 universities, IIM Indore wins Global IMA Student case 2022

Bringing laurels to management institutes in India, a 5-member team of the Indian Institute of Management Indore aced the Global IMA Student Case challenge 2022 finale in Dubai.

Teams were tasked with finding the best solution to improve and profitability of a Singapore-based indoor sports and recreational facility named Cage.

Making their mark, showcasing business acumen, and presenting solutions to real life market problems in presence of leading business professionals, the team from IIM Indore aced the IMA Student Case 2022.

Giving the best solutions for real-life marketing and managerial troubles, IIM Indore competed against 5 other teams from India. Upon clearing the National round, the IIM Indore team prepared for the International round held in Dubai. Here, teams from South East Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Europe participated.

The team comprising Aveek Choudhury, Ishan Anshul, Prikshit Saini, Rishu Raj, and Samriddhi Choudhury won the finals, competing against over 105 universities throughout the event.

The case revolved around challenges faced by Cage in ensuring efficiency and profitability. Cage faced issues like low female participation, low retention rates, and inefficient capacity utilization at specific locations.

In order to address each and every aspect of the issues faced by Cage, the IIM Indore team based their solution on marketing campaigns, targetting female customers; digitization; developing loyalty programs with a target to increase member base; and incentive programs for the General Managers to incentivize them.

Addressing the financial aspect, all solutions by the team were backed by robust cost accounting, financial accounting, and time value of money analysis.
