Specially-abled students will be provided with numerous facilities while appearing for their examinations

After conducting exams in online mode for over two years now, Madhya Pradesh has started conducting exams for classes 5 and 8 exams in offline mode. Students from across the state will be 3 hours to complete a single exam, meanwhile, specially-abled students enrolled in primary classes will be given 30 mins more than the usual 3 hours to take their exams. District collectors and officials from various concerned departments have been instructed to look after the same.

As per reports, no marks will be deducted for small grammatical errors in the answer booklet of students answering in Braille. The evaluation of answer sheets will be done immediately after the ongoing exams have concluded. Answer sheets for classes 1 and 2 must be evaluated by April 13. For classes 3, 4, 6 and 7, answer sheets must be marked from April 16 to 23 while for classes 5 and 8 the evaluation must be done from April 1 to 11.

As listed in the Rights for Persons with Disabilities Act 2016, specially-abled students will be provided with numerous facilities while appearing for their examinations. Apart from the extra 30 minutes for primary class students, other facilities for physically challenged students include, a provision to provide a scribe, exam questions in a more common language, a provision to answer in Braille and providing extra 20 minutes for every hour, etc.
