On Sunday, the General Election dates were announced and voting in Madhya Pradesh will take place in 4 phases. The political temperatures in M.P and elsewhere, are all set to skyrocket as Party Manifestos will be out shortly and the clamour for getting tickets from various constituencies will heat up. In Indore, the polling will take place on 19 May, 2019.

This year, 541 Lok Sabha seats are going to be up for grabs. It’s going to be the biggest, the mega event in the largest democracy of the world. A large number of young voters who have turned 18 after the last elections are going to join the electoral fray. As per reports, there are a total of 900 million voters this time as opposed to the 800 million in 2014.
With over 900 million total voters, this will be the biggest show of democracy in the history of the world. To make sure the elections are streamlined, the election commision will make use of 17.4 lakh VVPATs and EVMs. They will also educate people on how to use the machines so as to not tamper with votes and avoid controversy. Additionally, the EC has also launched an app called cVigil which helps the average citizen take a greater part in the voting process.

Apart from this, the Model of Conduct has also been implemented and cVigil helps citizens keep a watchful eye out for any malpractices during the election process. The election will be nothing short of a major feat as there is a substantial increase in voters and voting methods.
Polling will take place in Indore all across the city in over 300 polling centres. The polling process will take place on May 19, which is phase 7 of the election. Elections in Indore are a much awaited affair and we’re eagerly waiting for them to start.
