Association of Industries Madhya Pradesh (AIMP) in collaboration with Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) will build a dense green cover at Sanwer Road Industrial Area at an estimated cost of ₹50 lakhs. According to news reports, trees will be planted in about 6 lakh square feet area of land. The motive behind this afforestation project is to improve the air quality in the area and protect the land from encroachment.
Industries in the area to pay maintenance for the green patch

The association has marked land in sectors A, C, D and E for the project. The project will be taken forward in different phases. As per reports, around 1000 plants will be planted in the initial phase and a wall be also be constructed bordering the entire forest area. Currently, the construction work for the boundary wall is in its last leg.
About ₹40 lakhs will be spent on this and other necessary infrastructure like street lighting, building structures for workers and caretakers, etc. Additionally, a canteen will also be made for the people working in the industries in an area of 3000 sq ft. Once the construction and planting are done, the care and maintenance of the area can be funded by the maintenance fee paid by industries in the area. This fee will be handled by the AIMP.
