Along with gym trainers, the programme also saw the normal public learning how to effectively administer Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

In view of the rise in deaths caused during workout sessions in gyms, the Indian Medical Association organized CPR training in Indore for gym trainers. The programme, which was organized on Sunday, was an attempt to equip trainers in the city with the necessary know-how to act swiftly in case of an emergency.

It is noteworthy that there has been a recent rise in incidents of death caused during workout sessions. These also include cases of celebrities like comedian Raju Srivastava and Siddhaanth Surryavanshi among others, who collapsed either while working out or right after.

Taking cognizance of the situation, the Indian Medical Association's Indore chapter has decided to conduct these CPR training programmes for the general public and fitness trainers in the city. Moving forward, these 1-hour programmes will be held on the second Sunday of every month, starting at 08:00 AM.
