India's first cricket museum to be established inside Indore's Holkar stadium

The museum will feature iconic memorabilia, trophies, a photo gallery and figurines of prominent cricketers.

Cricket enthusiasts will soon be able to step into India's first-ever storehouse of cricket history, as the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has begun working on making a cricket museum inside Indore's Holkar stadium. BCCI is in affiliation with MPCA for making the museum, which will be a citadel of cricket history, made according to global standards.

What will the museum include?

The cricket museum is being made in an area of 2,800 sq. ft. within the Holkar stadium. The museum will curate a collection of cricket related items with great historical significance.

Important trophies, bats, balls and other such items related to iconic matches and players will be a part of the collection. Furthermore, the museum will also feature a collection of historic photographs and a storyboard of Indian and international cricketing history.

Life-sized statues of prominent cricketers

One of the biggest highlights of the museum will be the two life-sized statues of prominent cricketers of India, one of which will be of the first Indian captain, Padma Bhushan, C.K. Nayadu, while the name of the other cricketer has not yet been given away by the authorities.

The statue of Nayadu will be in the original army attire, and MPCA expects the completion of both the figures within three-four months.

Apart from that, the museum will also include a digital archive of significant matches for cricket enthusiasts.

Various cricketers to support the museum

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has affiliated with MPCA to provide support for the donation of significant items that will be displayed in the museum. Furthermore, cricketing legends such as Sourav Ganguly, Anil Kumble, Yuvraj Singh, M.S. Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and many others have been approached for their contribution to the museum and MPCA has received a positive response in most cases.

MPCA authorities have stated that the work on the facade will be summed up till October-November. However, the construction of the interior of the museum will take additional time.
