This week, Indore will be host to a film festival to honour the great Charlie Chaplin. The event will screen some of Chaplin’s greatest artistic feats and accomplishments in the form of his movies. The event will begin on the November 17.
The event will showcase films such as A Day’s Pleasure, Payday, A Dog’s Life, The Immigrant, The Adventurer, The Bank and The Vagabond to commemorate Chaplin’s memory and expression. Each of the films are short films and hence, can be enjoyed by someone new to the world of cinema and Chaplin’s own immersive universe. The screenings will be organized at Preetalal Dua Auditorium, 6:30 pm onward. The festival will pose as a testament to the legacy Charlie Chaplin left behind.

About Charlie Chaplin
Charlie Chaplin was born in 1889 in Walworth, London. He initially struggled in his career and had a hard time finding a footing for himself because of the abject poverty that he grew up in and the fact that his talent was not recognised by big cinema houses. However, his expression, perseverance and dedication earned him recognition. While some may consider his style to be slapstick, his work always carried a profound message.
In his career that spanned more than 75 years, he released more than 25 films, taking on versatile roles which made him an icon. Even today, decades after his death, he is considered the epitome of perfectionism and acting.
