Amid the rising COVID cases in the city, the District Magistrate of Indore has imposed Section 144 across the city, under the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 and the National Disaster Management Act, 2005. The timings for the curfew are 11 PM to 5 AM. This step has been taken in Indore to eliminate the risk of a further spike in infection. Amping up the healthcare infrastructure in the city, the administration has decided to set up Covid Care Centres at various places in Indore. SDM and other local administrators have been directed to make sure this centre gets established in a weeks time. Upon establishment, these centres will be operational in 2 days.
As per the press release, private hospitals with more than 50 beds have to reserve at least 10% of their capacity for COVID patients. The administration has given a 7-day notice period to all hospitals that have oxygen plants across Indore to get Oxygen purity certification, technicians for the management of the plant and a comprehensive maintenance contract. Violation of these rules will attract hefty fines from the authority.
Emphasis on vaccination against COVID

As per the notification issued by the administration, only fully-vaccinated people above 18 years of age will be allowed to enter multiplexes, coaching centres, gyms, swimming pools, clubs and stadiums across the city. Since no vaccine is available for those under 18, they are exempted from this rule.
All the staff members of schools and other educational institutions, as well as students aged 18 and above, have to get fully vaccinated in order to attend physical sessions. The notice issued by the authorities also emphasised the importance of vaccination. Heads of all government offices not only have to get vaccinated themselves but also ensure that their staff takes the jab as well.
Apart from this, the administration has urged the general public to avoid stepping out unnecessarily for their own safety and abide by the mask and social distancing restrictions. A fine of ₹200 will be imposed on all those who’re found without masks in public places. Additionally, not wearing the mask properly will also attract the same fine.
