In an attempt to revamp the Haat Bazar at Dhakkanwala Kua, the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has planned to make numerous upgrades. As per the reports, the place is likely to get an open-air theatre, a grand entrance gate, a play zone for kids, a parking space, a proper seating facility, a food zone, toilets and etc. In addition to these upgrades, Haat Bazar will be made more attractive by means of lighting and greenery.
Multiple upgrades to make way for cultural programmes & fairs

Along with IMC Commissioner Pratibha Pal, a number of other concerned officials, designers and consultants visited Haat Bazar for inspection last week. Pal instructed the officials to come up with the area’s survey design. Once the upgrades are complete, the place will be used as an efficient centre of cultural programmes, fairs and more, allowing new business and making the place fondly frequented by locals and outsiders alike.
This will be the second open-air theatre in the city, additionally, in an attempt to keep a close check on the cleanliness drive, the IMC commissioner also inspected other nearby areas including, Ranjeet Hanuman Mandir, Mahalaxmi Nagar, Gumasta Nagar, Siddharth Colony, Sudama Nagar, Usha Nagar, etc. During this inspection, trash dumped on empty plots were probed and orders to penalise the responsible were issued.
