In a first, Indore to get cable cars that'll help solve city's traffic woes

Stretching over 9 to 10 Km in its initial phase, this project aims to dissolve traffic on the city roads.

In an attempt to resolve the issues of increasing traffic jams on the roads of Indore, the city authorities have proposed the initiation of a cable car project. Assuring multiple benefits for the citizens, this project aspires to bring a trouble-free commute in the city after the plans are materialised. Furthering the execution of this scheme, a viability check has been initiated by all the bodies involved in this initiative.

In order to accelerate the process of the cable car project, a meeting of the top authorities was summoned. Notably, no region across the nation has witnessed any project of a similar kind and Indore is all set to be the first to have such a facility. As per sources, the feasibility report is being prepared for the roads connecting Jawahar Marg to Rajbada, Kalani Nagar to Sudama Nagar, Cloth Market to Maharana Pratap Nagar and Indore Railway Station to Bhanwar Kuan.

Reportedly, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh had given his approval for the rope-way cable car in Indore. Taking the process further, the district commissioner had organised a meeting in this regard. As per reports, Wabcos, the firm which manages cable cars delivered a detailed demonstration about the various facets of the project during this meeting.

Expected to stretch over a route of 9 to 10 Km, this facility will help in an easy flow of traffic amidst the thickly inhabited central part of Indore and the areas around the railway station.
