Indore city reports 100% first dose inoculation of eligible citizens

Driven by the relentless efforts of health and administrative officers, Indore has become the first city in Madhya Pradesh to witness 100% first dose inoculation of all eligible beneficiaries. Reportedly, the Municipal Commissioner, Pratibha Pal, informed that the entire eligible population of the city has been vaccinated with the first jab. As per records on the CoWin dashboard, a total of 25,75,512 doses have been administered to the beneficiaries in the Indore District till now.

As per reports, the Municipal Commissioner stated that the awareness of the citizens helped the city to accomplish this feat. Being informed about the benefits of immunisation, citizens did not hesitate to take the jab. On Friday, the vaccination tallies crossed the set target for the city, ushering in this significant achievement. Further, the commissioner requested the citizens to take their second dose as per the designated schedule, without fail.

Following the achievement of the city, Indore District is now gearing up to ensure 100% first-dose vaccination coverage. While more than 25 lakh individuals in the district have received their first dose, the total tally of eligible beneficiaries stands over 28 lakh. Now, the authorities have deployed their efforts for assuring quick and easy administration of the second dose.

Special drives for pregnant women on all days from Monday

As per reports, nearly 4 thousand pregnant women have been inoculated in Indore. Reportedly special drives for such women were organised at P.C. Seth Hospital, MYH Hospital and Banganga Hospital on Friday. Additionally, reports state that inoculation drives for pregnant women will be functional on all days from Monday onwards.

It is also being reported that around 101 cases of Delta variant have been detected in Indore through the past few months. Besides, cases of other mutants including the alpha strain, have also been identified. In view of this, the authorities are leaving no stone unturned to mitigate the effects of an expected third wave.
