Vaccination drives to be continued in Indore based on prior online registrations

Indore leads immunisation schedules across the state and 10,24,813 doses have been administered in the city, so far.

As a step to ensure better management of inoculation drives, the Health Department in Madhya Pradesh has instructed that the vaccine doses will be administered to 18+ individuals only after online registration across urban centres. As per reports, this includes districts that have divisional headquarters like Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, amongst others. Reportedly, the beneficiaries will be able to procure jabs through on-spot registrations after 4 PM at vaccination centres in Indore.

Well structured vaccination program to prevent vaccine wastage

Notably, the centres were overcrowded by a large count of willing individuals after on-site registrations were allowed. Due to this, chaos ensued and it became difficult for the police officials to ensure proper implementation of guidelines and protocols. In view of these circumstances, it has been mandated that the immunity booster jabs will only be given upon prior registrations on the virtual platform.

Reports state that walk-in vaccinations will be continued in the rural areas of the state. Under this program, the beneficiaries would stand in queues at the inoculation site in order to get their jab administered. Through a well-structured scheme of immunisation, the authorities aim to prevent vaccine wastage and ensure judicious use of the available inventories.

Bombay Hospital & Choithram Hospital to initiate inoculations soon

While Rajshri Hospital was the only private centre providing vaccine doses to the citizens, two more private hospitals will be added to this list soon. As per reports, vaccination drives are slated to start at Bombay Hospital and Choithram Hospital in the upcoming days and stocks have already been allotted to them for this. It is noteworthy that Indore is the frontrunner in immunisation schedules across the state and 10,24,813 doses have been administered in the city, so far.
