Indore is gearing up to make history as Madhya Pradesh’s first city to get a metro rail system, with safety approvals now in place and trial runs completed. Though the official launch date is yet to be confirmed, key details are in place. The metro will run daily from 8 AM to 8 PM, with trains scheduled every 30 minutes.

Free rides, smart stations & more

In the initial phase, metro trains will run between Gandhi Nagar Depot and Station No. 3 on the Super Priority Corridor, covering a 5.9 km stretch with five fully equipped stations. Operations will run daily from 8 AM to 8 PM, with trains running every 30 minutes and a total of 50 trips per day in both directions.

Passengers will enjoy fare-free travel in the first week, followed by 70% discount in week 2, 50% in week 3, and 25% for three months before full fares (₹20–₹80) apply. The route will feature 28 stations in its full phase, with the initial stretch covering five stations equipped with elevators, escalators, and e-bus connectivity.

India's Prime Minister is likely to inaugurate the service, marking a major leap in urban mobility for Indore. With Bhopal’s metro expected by mid-2025, Madhya Pradesh is poised for a transit revolution.
