Indore is facing a concerning drop in rainfall this year, raising alarms among the city residents. Despite the state experiencing above-average water levels, Indore’s rainfall has been notably deficient. So far, the ongoing monsoon season has delivered only 323.7 mm (almost 13 inches) of rain to the district, which is nearly half of the 610.4 mm (24 inches) recorded during the same period last year.
Fair chances of rainfall between July 28 and 29
As per weather experts, a low-pressure area and cyclonic circulation system in Madhya Pradesh have triggered heavy rainfall across the state. This in turn can lead to fair amount of rainfall in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, and 21 other districts within the next 48 hours.
Since the monsoon’s onset on June 21, the state has experienced continuous rainfall, with several districts receiving heavy showers over the past week. Furthermore an orange alert for heavy rain has been issued for Vidisha, Raisen, Harda, Betul, Jabalpur, and Balaghat today.
