International Women’s Literature Festival to be held in Indore from May 14 to 15

The fourth edition of the festival will be organised in Indore’s Abhay Prashal

The fourth edition of the International Women’s Literature Fest is being organised in Indore where a number of popular literary minds will come together to share their works. The event will take place at Abhay Prashal on May 14 and 15. The festival is being organised by Vama Sahitya Manch, a literary group local to Indore. It is also one of the many events organised under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

An opportunity for budding writers

Hindi litterateurs from all over the world will mark the event with their presence. However, this literary festival will be more than just a meet for popular writers. It will also offer a stage for budding writers to showcase their compositions. People who want to be a part of the festival can register themselves by means of a phone call.

Event itinerary

The two-day festival will have 12 sessions by different guests. Day 1 will be inaugurated with an opening session at 10:00, where the role of technology in the promotion and broadcast of Hindi at an international level will be highlighted. Followed by a chief guest session on the connection between migrant and mainstream literature by Dr. Suryabala and Rajkumari Gautam. Other events that wll take place post opening sessions are as follows:

  • Session 3: 14:40 to 15:50

Guests - Shardula Nogaja (Senior Writer, Singapore) and Pratibha Katiyar (Litterateur, Dehradun)

Subject - Stree Asmita, Adamya Jijeevisha ka Sangharsh aur Mahila Lekhan

  • Session 4: 15:50 to 16:30

Guests - Manisha Kulshreshtha (Senior Writer, Jaipur) and Jaya Sarkar (Poetess, Pune)

  • Session 5: 17:10 to 18:20

Guest - Kshama Kaul (Litterateur, Jammu & Kashmir)

Subject - Unpopular subjects and methods and women writers

  • Session 6: 18:30 to 20:30

Guest - Samiksha Tailang (Satirist, Pune) and Kopal Jain (Travel Blogger, Bengaluru)

Open Mic

Day 2 will be kickstarted by short story workshop by famous short story writer Kanta Rai. The seventh session will begin at 9:30 and will end by 11:10. Following events of Day 2 are listed below:

  • Session 8: 11:20 to 12:30

Subject - Establishing Hindi as an international language, international expectations and the present scenario

Guests - Dr. Anjali Chintamani (Senior Lecturer, Mahatma Gandhi Sansthan, Mauritius), and Reena Maneriya (Litterateur, Udaipur)

  • Session 9: 12:30 to 13:00

Guest - Dr. Nutan Pandey (Assitant Director, Central Hindi Directorate, New Delhi)

  • Session 10: 14:10 to 15:40

Subject - Changing Indian Culture and Clearness of Language

Guest - Shweta Deepti (Professor, Central Hindi Dpt., Tribhuvan University, Nepal)

  • Session 11: 15:50 to 16:50

Subject - Women writers and their work from the perspective of men

Guests - Dr. Deepal Pandey, Dr. Rama Takshak, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Mishr
