In an attempt to deliver health services for all major diseases and disorders, the Madhya Pradesh Health Department has opened a physiotherapy centre for leprosy patients in Khargone.

The centre will primarily deal with patients suffering from grade two deformity in pre and post-surgery care.

Authorities have, so far, detected over 180 new leprosy cases in this financial year. However, only one patient was found to be suffering from grade two deformity. According to Health Department officials, the department targets the detection of at least 1000 cases this year, with the help of various health checkup camps and campaigns.

As per reports, the physiotherapy centre will be set up at the multi-floor Palika Plaza housing health department offices in Khargone district which come under the Indore division.
