Knocksense Shorts | WRI India acknowledges the achievements of Indore Smart City
The World Resources Institute (WRI) India has recognised Indore Smart City for its excellent work on the Sanskriti Nagar Park Development. WRI India officially highlighted the seven key steps taken by Indore Smart City, taking inspiration from the park to create family friendly public spaces.
After waterlogging and security issues plagued the region for a while, the Indore Smart City Development Limited (ISCDL) identified an underutilised area in Sanskriti Nagar. Following a comprehensive investigation, they relocated an anganwadi and established a safe outdoor play area in response to the requirements of the community. Slope correction, topsoil treatment for rainfall percolation, and the creation of play areas, communal spaces, and family-friendly zones were all part of the makeover. According to WRI India officials, the city's commitment to a strong blue-green network has been strengthened by this achievement, which has inspired it to extend such initiatives around Indore.
