In the past, we have seen services and public utilities improving vastly in places such as airports, railway stations, offices and public spaces. However, now this is going to be enhanced to a different level altogether. Starting today evening, we are going to have robots greeting us at Indore airport! A novel concept, this has the potential to make your air travel much simpler, quicker and on the whole, more pleasant. From baggage collection to emergency contacts, the friendly airport robot will assist you in every aspect.

The robot will greet visitors who land at Indore airport and will assist them in baggage collection or even in an emergency. In terms of its utility, it has an in built screen with a variety of options that you can choose to make your travel hassle free and more smooth.

In case you lose your luggage, the robot will guide you on whom you can contact to report it or get it back. The robot will also have inbuilt sensors that allow it to move smoothly and guide passengers to their required destinations. If you’ve got a complaint, the robot will help by playing recorded messages with telephone numbers of authorities who are incharge of the specific departments. The robot will be static for the next few weeks but in the coming future, it will become mobile.

Certainly a unique addition to the airport, the robot has been developed by students of Acropolis Engineering College in a joint venture with Airport Authorities India.

On another note, Indore is not a stranger to such antics by the government. The city is also home to a massive traffic police robot that guides travellers, sends out challans, acts as a traffic signal and on the whole, is great for traffic control.
